Join us at rehearsal

We rehearse Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Ayer Shirley Middle School (1 Hospital Rd Shirley).  We occasionally have concerts scheduled on Wednesdays in the Spring and Summer, so send an email to double check [email protected].



Membership information

Any local musician with a band instrument (woodwind, brass, or percussion) is invited to rehearse with the Band.  There are no auditions required. Participation in performances is at the discretion of the conductor. Regular rehearsal attendance is encouraged - the last two rehearsals before a concert are especially important.

Logistics

Sheet music is provided.  At concerts, players must provide their own music stands and chairs.  At rehearsals, stands and chairs are provided.


The Band is governed by a Board.  The Board is responsible for policy decision-making, financial record keeping, and communication with the membership.  The Board consists of five officers and up to five members-at-large.

Funding

The Nashoba Valley Concert Band does not charge any fees for membership.  Funding is provided by fees we charge for performing, Cultural Council Grants, and by donations from organizations and towns.   Donations are always welcome.

Concert attire

Concert attire is black pants and white shirt for men, black pants/skirt and white blouse for women. Dress for the 4th of July Parades is red, white and/or blue (of course!).
